Tell a story in pictures inspired by the amazing Bayeux Tapestry!
Store Cupboard:
- Scissors
- A pencil
- Wall lining paper
- A3 card or thick paper
- A pencil
- Paints
- Card
- Glue
- Thick felt pens
- Brushes
- Cut a background from a long roll of wall lining paper, or use several pieces of paper to make a background in sections,
- Use the template shapes as a guide for drawing horses, boats and people. Cut out the shapes then colour them in. A simple shape for a person can be adapted by gluing cut out arms and legs in different positions, or cut the body in half to change the pose. Try making some of your own shapes then add details and decoration with felt pens.
- Draw a border along the top and bottom of the background then colour it in.
- Glue your cut-outs onto the background to tell a story.
Hints and Tips:
If you have enough wall space in the classroom, use one long piece of lining paper for the background.
Pin the lining paper to the wall before you start, or lay it flat on the floor to stop the ends curling up.
